Gauteng has always been the hub of sporting activity in South Africa, having hosted the South African Formula One Grand Prix in 1993, the Rugby World Cup Final in 1995, and the All Africa Games in 1998. We also hosted the Cricket World Cup in 2003, generating fantastic publicity around the globe. And next year, we are the proud hosts of the Soccer World Cup in 2010.
